I am a strong believer that the most beautiful fall decor doesn’t come from a store at all. It’s already out there—right at our feet on a forest trail, in our own backyard, or maybe tucked away on a thrift store shelf.

A few weekends ago, I took a long hike through our nearby woods, breathing in the crisp air and watching the leaves tumble like confetti. I brought a small basket and gathered responsibly—just a few fallen branches, acorns, colorful leaves, and some pinecones. The entire time, I imagined how I would use these simple, natural treasures in my fall decorating.

And they did! I used them to spruce up a cheapo thrift store wreath, added them to some simple centerpieces and scattered them around a grouping of pumpkins I had actually grown myself (so proud!).

My little fall decorating inspired me to go look for more ideas to change up the look of my front door and outdoor table. And wow, my fellow blogging gals, came through! I hope you’ll enjoy browsing these fall porch decorating ideas as much as I enjoyed gathering them all together.

How beautiful is this cornstalk front porch?! To get the look save the tall stalks after harvesting your sweet corn, instead of tossing them (or chat up your local farmer and get some from her/him). Group them in bunches of three to five and tie them tightly with burlap ribbon or garden twine. Lean them against porch posts or place them on either side of the door to give your porch a cozy, harvest-time look.
