Pom pom and tassels decorative charm DIY
I made this pom pom and tassels decorative charm. This DIY decoration with pom poms and tassels turned out to be a quick and easy craft project. I love that this giant charm with pom poms and tassels adds instant glamour to my big vase.

Look at that big pom pom and tassels charm hanging all decoratively on my big vase. I love how this project turned out and it couldn’t have been easier. You only need some simple, basic skills and lots of yarn. I’ll explain how I made it later but first let’s revel in its glamour and Hollywood style 🙂

This big oriental vase (from a discount store in the Netherlands) has a pretty big oomph factor all on its own, but it is rocking the pom pom and tassels!
This is such a fun and easy little craft project. It was all done while sipping tea and chatting. You don’t need much in terms of materials and it is very portable. Even with all the tea drinking and chatting, I don’t think it took me much more than an hour from start to finish.
I love crafting projects like that. Instant return on investment. No complications, no mess, no big cleanup afterwards.

I tried out the vase at the coffee table too. My big white coffee table could handle it very well. But somehow those branches got it in the way of my TV watching. So it had to move.
I moved it right back where it had been all along since Christmas. I still hadn’t put it away after the holiday, just took the Christmas decorations away. But my little pom pom and tassels charm made me give that whole corner a little spruce up. And now I am loving it again.

Okay onto the business of creating a little pom pom and tassels charm for your home decor. If you haven’t figured it out by looking at it, here are the steps.
Gather materials.
For the pom poms you want nice fluffy yarn. Karianne from Thistlewood Farms has recently posted about the perfect yarn for pom poms, so I suggest you follow her advice.
For the tassels I used thinner and very straight yarn. My sister gave it to me, she used this kind of yarn for her tatting crafts. But I have it on good authority that cross stitch yarn works very well too. I followed the instructions from Julia from Cuckoo4Design to stack the tassels. She created this gorgeous ombre stacked tassel charm for her bag.
Craft your little heart out.
Make three pompoms, make four or five tassels, braid a long cord, attach it all together and you are done
Now go play with it!

This pom pom and tassels charm DIY project didn’t fall from the sky. I have had pom poms and tassels on my mind. I whipped up a couple dozen quick tassels recently that I attached to a simple fleece blanket. That white little blanket has already been a perfect prop in my photoshoots.
And more pom poms are coming to the blog soon, because they are making an appearance in at least two craft projects I have in the works.

Little white tassels, oh how you warm my heart….

Do you like it?
If so, you would earn my forever gratitude if you gave my little project some Social Media love ❤️
Have a wonderful day y’all!!

Everything you do is so lovely! And you house just feels so fresh!
