Easy Fall Decoration and a Vintage Mustard Pot

Good morning sunshines!
It is official! I have started decorating for fall. Just a little bit, though, we are still enjoying beautiful sunny days here in the lowlands, so I am in no rush to start the next season. But still…
Nature is turning its colors, all around me, there are signs of summer retreating, and I am starting to get this itchy feeling that it is time to pack away the shells and bring out the pine cones.
And then I found this lovely new vintage mustard pot, and it just screamed at me…

It screamed take me home, love on me, decorate me, use me…
You know, just like mustard pots can scream at you.
Well, this one was particularly loud and demanding.
And it just wouldn’t settle for anything less than a little easy fall decoration in its honor.
So I obliged.
Same way that I obliged when some vintage breadboards demanded to come home with me…
They turned up in my fall decorating twice already. Vintage breadboards are the backdrop of my colorful farmhouse mantel. And a particularly rustic breadboard adds a vintage touch as a foundation in my table decor with heirloom pumpkins.

With permission, I ‘stole’ some Hydrangeas from a friend’s garden and added some Sedum flowers that have just started to change color.
A bottle and a pitcher in the same off-white color as my mustard pot completed my arrangement of three.

Oh, and I added three pine cones.
Told you this was quick and easy.
But it has just the right amount of fall and has set the tone for some easy fall decorating just nicely.

I have a feeling this mustard pot and I will develop a strong relationship and maybe even become good friends. If she stops being so loud and demanding…..
So how about you? Has fall crept into your home (or Spring for those on the other side of the equator)? Ready to let go of summer or desperately clinging on?
And did you ever have a loud, demanding, screaming mustard pot in your life?

This is so great looking! And no, I haven’t had a mustard pot in my past, but I can see one in my future…
Well that sweet thing is just too precious! WANT! Leave it to you to blend in old signs AND hydrangeas… two of my loves!
