Quick Outdoor Christmas Decorations In The Garden
Looking for some quick outdoor Christmas decorations you can make today? Here is my garden table decked out for the Holiday in a rustic and natural Christmas style that I created in an hour or two.

After all the Christmas decorating in the house, I must admit, I had run out of steam when it came to my outdoor Christmas decorating.
But I couldn’t just leave our garden table and back porch without any Christmas decor.
So I set myself a challenge to see how much I could get done in two hours, and this is the result.

I am so pleased! I created a big and lush centerpiece for the garden table. Created two little ones to flank it. And dumped all of my leftover greenery on the side table.
It looks rustic. It looks natural. And I love it!

Our roofed terrace is the perfect spot to decorate because I can make table decorations that are protected from the rain and most of the wind. And this year I didn’t hold back on decorating this outdoor space.
I am so much in love with how this big natural Christmas centerpiece on my garden table turned out.
And it was so easy to create. You won’t believe it, until I show you.
Tada!!!!!

Doesn’t this centerpiece look grand? It even has some side Christmas arrangements too.
Quite the statement, isn’t it?
I think it looks pretty impressive, if I say so myself. But with my little chicken wire trick, this one wasn’t too hard to make either.
How to Make Quick Outdoor Christmas Decorations

I found a really big log of a branch in a corner of our yard and balanced it on a sturdy metal urn.
With chicken wire and some extra bits of metal wire I secured the branch to the urn and provided a place to stick greenery into at the same time.

See, here is a close-up. Nothing fancy. Just scrunched up chicken wire and some extra wire to keep the whole thing in place.
Doesn’t need to look good or neat at this stage. It all gets covered up anyway.

And then you just stick stuff in the chicken wire.
I used a variety of greenery that I could clip from my own or my neighbours gardens (with permission of course). But you can also find bundles of mixed greenery at the garden center at this time of the year.
Start with the basic outlines, then fill it in and add some pretty decorations last
If you want more details on how to make an outdoor floral arrangement you might like this post on how I used the same urn to make a winter centerpiece for my garden table. It has a full tutorial and even a how-to video.
Our refectory table is crazy long so it demanded even more than this rather large centerpiece. So I quickly put together two more little ones.

For these I used floral foam. Too easy.
I love making fresh Christmas arrangements and I did a full tutorial of how I made them in another post.
These two little arrangments are like the backing vocals to the lead singer…..
…… they make harmony together.
But what are singers without a good band?
Meet the band:

All the greenery I had left after all my centerpiece making got ‘dumped’ on my garden worktable. I added some accessories….

Sprinkled on some snow…
Lit a candle in a lantern…
Stuffed in some more pretty rustic stuff…

And called it a day.
I even had time to clean up before my two hours were over. Challenge accepted and completed.
Quick outdoor Christmas decorations are done. Mission accomplished.
I love walking up from the back of the garden to the house and seeing it all decked out and welcoming.

I love it when a plan comes together!
This Christmas garden table all decked out in its rustic and natural beauty is just perfect to me. It is a bit like a woodsy winter wonderland, and I love it.

Aw. I was a bit sad that most of the entries for the giveaway involved Pinterest. I am purposefully avoiding Pinterest, because I KNOW that I would be addicted! 🙂 But that’s OK. At least I have one entry.
Merry Christmas!
